Employment support and adult education

Family Hubs can be a delivery point for adult education and employment support, particularly for those who may be facing significant barriers to entering the job market. Family Hubs can either link to Jobcentre Plus or have a resident adviser to provide employment and job-seeking support as well as debt, housing and benefits advice where necessary.

Accessing employment and skills support through a Family Hub can be a much less intimidating experience than attending a Jobcentre Plus or formal educational institution particularly amongst more disadvantaged groups.

Some Hubs offer language classes to enable parents to communicate with their children’s teachers or to facilitate engagement with adult education and employment.
