We have 4 Children and Family Hubs, which are positioned across Medway – Wayfield, Chatham, Gillingham and Strood. There are also well-being centers aligned with hubs which are used to deliver services. Each hub has a Hub Manager, and a team of Family Solutions Practitioners who provide preventative early intervention support with group intervention, parenting programs and / or 1:1 support to children and young people from pre-birth – 19years old and their families, in line with the Medway Children’s Services Threshold document.
- Hubs are a central point of access in the community providing access to NHS, SEN, Housing and Public Health services including midwifery, health visiting and asthma clinics, to name a few.
- Our partners from the youth service also run evening sessions to cater for young people within the area, providing a range of activities to build peer relationships, self-confidence and a sense of community.
- Our rooms are also used to support family contact times, direct work with children and families, counselling sessions, social care meetings and other multi professional family meetings.
- The Hubs also provide the community with foodbank vouchers, food parcels, hygiene packs and care packages.
- Information regarding the hubs can be found on the:
- Medway Council Website:
- The Family Information Service website (FIS) also contains up to date information regarding hub timetables and other services that are available to families throughout Medway.
- Facebook is also used as a platform to communicate up to date service information for families including the Group offer timetable. Timetables are updated on a termly basis, these are then sent to partner agencies such as pre-schools, nurseries, child minders, schools and health teams to share with families they are working with.
