Today, the Early Intervention Foundation launches its much-anticipated report ‘Planning early childhood services in 2020: learning from practice and research on children’s centres and hubs’. They reviewed contemporary local practice to understand what is happening on the ground and explore how lessons from this – and existing research – can inform future development.

The EIF invited Family Hubs Network Director and Co-founder, Dr Samantha Callan, to blog in support of the report’s launch. She highlights the importance of ‘high-quality local family services which start in maternity and run throughout childhood’ to the Government’s ambitions to ‘level up’ Britain’ and how Family Hub Model principles can be instrumental in delivering these. She emphasises the benefits to central and local government of focusing on these principles and not the ‘complex, even confusing landscape of provision and nomenclature in local areas.’

You can find Samantha’s blog and the report here.
